In April our Cricket Development team went to Tartu Mart Reiniku Gümnaasium to teach cricket for 250 school kids from 6th-7th and 8th and 9th garde.
Early this summer, the ECA set to the task of developing its second ground, to further help with the developent of cricket in Estonia. The "Hipo North" is located next to our old ground, and is in the mddle of the Hipodroom. This means now in our Wednesday domestic league, we are now able to have two games running concurrently, and will greatly assist all members of the ECA, to ensure everyone can get a game!
The ECA held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday 6 March at Chakra Restaurant.

ICC Europe announces Regional Winners of Pepsi ICC Development Programme Awards for 2009
ICC Europe has today announced the European regional winners of the Pepsi ICC Development Programme Awards for 2009.
This year we will continue in Kotka Hall with the indoor cricket trainings.

Eesti Kriket completed another very successful trip to Helsinki, for the annual 6-a-side cricket tournament, organized by the SKK cricket club. For the first time ever, four teams played in the Helsinki 6’s. Triobet and Nimeta Cricket Clubs contested the cup division, whilst a complete Estonian mens and an Estonian ladies team, competed in the plate division. Proving that all the hard work to develop and grow cricket in Estonia is starting to pay off!

Another great training session was held at the English College today. The same class (Grade 10), that we taught last week, went straight into playing an enthusiastic game of Kwik Cricket.

Our indoor cricket program will finish with a small tournament on March 29th before commencing our summer program of training and fixtures at the Hipodrome cricket ground in mid April.

ECA is very happy to announnce we've lengthened the pitch by 5 metres, and widened it by 1 metre. We have also setup a new training pitch and poured concrete for this. thanks to all who came out the working bee to help prepare this.
The Estonian Indoor cricket championship was held on April 5th in Vimsi sports halls. 3 teams(A,B,C) of 6 members each captained by Tim,Vineeth and James respectively battled out against each other. Each match consisted of a single innings of 6 overs and last man batting.
A Welsh village cricket club are set to make history when they host and take part in an international twenty20 cricket tournament this summer.

The Estonian National Cricket Team will play two warm-up games against a UK touring team on July 4th, and July 5th at Tallinn Hipodroom as part of their preparations for the prestigious event, the Helsinki Sixes, to be played in Helsinki on July 28th 2007. The Hipodroom matches will start at 4.00pm and 6.00pm respectively.

Weekly cricket training will held at the hippodrome on Monday and Wednesdays at 1800.
08/17/2006 - Taverners coach cricket in Estonian Schools
On the recent trip to Estonia the Lords Taverners broke from their hectic schedule of visiting museums and the ballet to pop in to a local school to demonstrate cricket indoors. The result was taverners all out for 12 and the school 142 - 3.
