Match Report: Estonian XI v Old Grumblers XI
Estonia XI 188/3 v Old Grumblers XI 76/9

Estonia won by 112 runs

The visitors won the toss and decided to bowl first, Estonia XI captained by Jason Barry.

Estonian Innings:
The visitors captain won the toss and elected to field.  James and Gavin opened the innings for Estonia.  Gavin hit a couple of bondaries before being caught in deep extra cover.  James seemed nervous, initially playing defensively.  Jason came in at the fall of Gavin.  Both the players played a solid innings with Jason gradually shifting gear to an attacking mode and James playing second fiddle.

Jason scored a magnificent 76 which included couple of sixes and eventually fell, caught at long on.  Siva came in and hit a six and four, then got bowled trying to hoick a ball coming straight at the wicket.  Mike tooK over and rotated strike with James who then took charge with an attacking style of batting.  He was unbeaten scoring a half century.  The opposition captain seemed shell shocked after this brilliant batting display.

Old Grumblers innings:
Rob and Vineeth opened the bowling for Estonia.  Both the bowlers kept a tight line and didn't allow the batsmen to get away with anything.  Rob got the first wicket, when the opener knicked one to the keeper.  His figures were 4-1-11-1. Vineeth ended with figures of 4-1-6-0 after bowling a "Glen McGrath" type session, focusing on tight line and length.  Siva aand Jason took over and maintained the pressure, Jason getting 2 wickets, one lbw and another bowled.

Siva was unlucky not to get Andy out when he had clearly knicked to the keeper, however, he kept his co0l and went on to get 2 wickets.

Mike and James replaced these 2 bowlers.  Mike bowled well maintaining an off stump line.  He had his first wicket, caught at slip by Gavin.  James was bowling very fast and had the batsmen jumping about.  He ended up with 2 victims, while Mike had 3 wickets to his name.

The sustained pressure from quality bowlers was too much for the Old Grumblers to handle and they collapsed to 76/9 well short of the target of 189.

It was a very professional performance by the Estonian XI in the field, with the ball and the bat.  In the end the Old Grumblers didnt know what had hit them.  They were totally outplayed.

Man of the match: James Ramsden
